What is TenThousandtoOne?
TenThousandtoOne is my answer to a question I have been grappling with for years. How can I help those whose basic human needs are not met and feel like I have made an impact? I struggle daily with the blessings of my lifestyle while knowing that there are children whose one daily meal is a handful of termites, people who cannot sleep soundly at night for fear of violence, or the working poor in my own community who search for shelter with their families before nightfall. My dream is that together, sacrificing less than one dollar a month, we can provide more meals, more shoes, more blankets, and restore hope to many by hand delivering ten thousand US dollars to one organization each year.
Each year I will seek out an organization and donate 100% of the funds raised directly to the project or group in need. The organizations chosen will be small, grassroots endeavors where monies will support the programs, not infrastructure. Please visit the Programs page for information about this year's project.
What isn't TenThousandtoOne?
TenThousandtoOne is not (yet) a 501c3 BUT the programs we support are! Your donation will be tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. We will provide you with the Tax ID number of the 501c3 that will grant the funds to each year's project.
