What are the odds that sometime during our lifetime you and I CAN make a difference in the lives of those in need locally and internationally? Better than you think. So, let's make it happen.
What is TenThousandtoOne?
TenThousandtoOne is my answer to a question I have been grappling with for years. How can I help those whose basic human needs are not met and feel like I have made an impact? I struggle daily with the blessings of my lifestyle while knowing that there are children whose one daily meal is a handful of termites, people who cannot sleep soundly at night for fear of violence, or the working poor in my own community who search for shelter with their families before nightfall. My dream is that together, sacrificing less than one dollar a month, we can provide more meals, more shoes, more blankets and more HOPE for many by hand delivering ten thousand US dollars to one organization each year.
Each year I will seek out an organization that will allow the funds to be paid directly to the project or group in need. Every dollar will go directly to the program. It will not be used to pay for my travel, food or lodging, nor will the funds go to a large organization that spends hundreds of thousands on infrastructure. (I don't have a problem with those organizations but our $10,000 will go to a smaller, all volunteer, grassroots program.) Please visit the Programs page for information about this year's project.
What isn't TenThousandtoOne?
TenThousandtoOne is not (yet) a 501c3 BUT the programs we support are! Your donation will be tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. We will provide you with the Tax ID number of the 501c3 that will grant the funds to each year's project.
